New office, retail building and park planned for the Gulch

Gulch developer MarketStreet Enterprises has new plans for a development of offices, shops and a pocket park across from the popular wings mural on 11th Avenue South.

Construction on a 5-story red-brick office building called Three Thirty Three would begin in the fall, if design plans are approved by Metro officials quickly.

Adjacent open space with a lawn, benches, stage and decorative water wall called Noble Park is also in development.

"We will transform the center of the Gulch to become a community focal point," said Jay Turner, managing director of MarketStreet Enterprises. "Each MarketStreet project is executed with the neighborhood’s totality in mind, so with Noble Park we labored over every detail to deliver an exceptional outdoor space that goes well beyond a traditional park."

The project, next to Design Within Reach, would complete redevelopment of the block and include a new crosswalk between Laurel and Pine Streets.

Offices would be developed with large, loft-style floor plates, exposed steel and wood floors.

"The office building design will create feelings of a vintage industrial space," said Dirk Melton, MarketStreet's development director. "The infrastructure will be modern, offering contemporary amenities and flexible space plans that companies desire in order to attract and retain top talent.”

MarketStreet developed Velocity and Icon condominiums, along with numerous other residential and retail projects in the Gulch.
